Dolphins Players Join Broward Sheriff's Office In Ride-Along

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins may be in the middle of a late-season charge towards a playoff spot but that doesn't mean they aren't taking time to help the community celebrate the holidays and practice safety.

Dolphins players Jelani Jenkins, Kinny Stills and Michael Thomas joined members of the Broward Sheriff's Office for a ride-along on Monday.

The groups traveled around the community, passing out football trading cards and playing with neighborhood kids.

They also discussed community policing and safety at Broward Sheriff Office's roll call.

A town hall meeting in September that included The Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE), community leaders, law enforcement and youth coaches led to Monday's events.
