Dolphins Make First Cuts, Trim Roster To 75

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins have begun trimming their roster down as the NFL Preseason nears its end.

The NFL set Tuesday August 26 as the date that teams must have no more than 75 players on their active roster.

Teams then will have four days to evaluate their remaining players.  On August 30, there can be no more than 53 players on any team's active roster and that will be the limit for the remainder of the season.

In order to get their roster down to 75, the Dolphins made the following moves:

WAIVED:
WR Armon Binns
TE Brett Brackett
CB Steven Clarke
DE Rakim Cox
DT Cory Grissom
C Tyler Larsen
WR Ryan Spadola

TERMINATED CONTRACT:
QB Brady Quinn
