DAVIE (CBSMiami) – A Miami Dolphins season that began with high expectations has become another disappointment, and the front office continues to make changes.

The Dolphins announced on Monday that the team has fired offensive coordinator Bill Lazor following Miami's latest loss, a 38-20 drubbing by the New York Jets that wasn't as close as the score would indicate.

Miami had already dismissed head coach Joe Philbin and defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle after the team came out the gate with a 1-3 record in which they didn't look good in any of the four games.

Quarterback coach Zac Taylor will serve as the Dolphins offensive play caller for the remainder of the season.  In addition, Phil McGeoghan has been promoted to wide receivers coach.

Lazor has been under the microscope this season for multiple reasons, including a failure to commit to the run game and the limitations he's put on quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who had ascended in his first three seasons before seemingly hitting a wall this year.

The Dolphins currently hold a 4-7 record and are heading towards another offseason overhaul.
