DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins have been known for making headline grabbing, bold moves during the NFL offseason and it appears that 2016 will be no different.

Per multiple reports, the Dolphins have acquired linebacker Kiko Alonso and cornerback Byron Maxwell from the Philadelphia Eagles.

The trade has been agreed to by both sides but is still pending a couple of things.

First, both players will need to pass their physicals.

The Dolphins are also in talks with Maxwell to rework his contract, so that and the pending physicals will need to be completed before the trade can be made official.

The deal will not be announced until at least 4 p.m. on Wednesday due to the NFL rules governing trades in the new league year.

Maxwell signed a six-year, $63 million contract with the Eagles prior to the 2015 season but was considered a disappointment during his first and only year in Philly.

He's due to make $8.5 million with a $9.7 million cap hit in 2016.

Alonso is entering the final year of his rookie contract so there's no financial concern there. His cap hit in 2016 will be $991,418.

The Dolphins are reportedly sending draft compensation to Philadelphia in exchange for the two players, though specifics on the pick or picks is unknown at this time.
