ORLANDO (CBSMiami) – Walt Disney World is turning the lights back on for Grad Nite after having shuttered the event over five years ago.

For almost 40 years, the event geared to high school seniors, was held at Magic Kingdom. There was one rare exception when it was held at Hollywood Studios in 2009.

But now, according to the Orlando Sentinel, when Disney flips the switches back on to illuminate the hearts of high school seniors around Florida, it'll be at the Typhoon Lagoon water park.

"We're always looking for ways to help guests celebrate their special milestones, and we know our guests like to celebrate their high-school graduation at Walt Disney World Resort," said Andrea Finger, a Walt Disney World spokeswoman. "With this in mind, we are reimagining this special event and introducing a new way for high school seniors to celebrate their achievements with friends and classmates."

The revived event is being dubbed Disney Grad Nite H20 in honor of the watery transition.

The event will include DJ dance parties, the opportunity to meet Disney characters, food and unlimited drinks in a commemorative souvenir mug, plus the option for a "specially priced" theme park ticket.

Students will be able to attend April 7, 21 and 28 in 2017. Tickets will be $55 per person and the sales will be arranged through students' high schools.
