Did Eric Weddle's Agent Endorse a Trade to the Dolphins?

Eric Weddle to the Miami Dolphins?

As you may have learned by now, Dolphins safety Louis Delmas appears to have suffered a tear to the ACL in his right knee for the second consecutive season after getting carted off the field today during a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers.

Could the Dolphins be looking outside the roster for safety help? The Sun Sentinel's Omar Kelly pondered as much, tweeting about how maybe they should inquire about Chargers All-Pro safety Eric Weddle.

David Canter, Weddle's South Florida-based agent, tweeted his glowing endorsement.

The 30-year-old Weddle is in the final year of a five-year, $40 million contract.

If the Dolphins, or anyone else, do inquire about trading for the five-time All-Pro, his next contract extension likely won't come cheap. He was Pro Football Focus' top ranked safety in 2014.
