Detectives Investigating Polk County Inmate's Death

LAKE WALES (CBSMiami/AP) -- Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate in Central Florida.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says 48-year-old Paul Desmond died Friday morning. The sheriff's office says the inmate had a medical emergency and was brought to Lake Wales Medical Center, where he died.

No other details have been released.

Desmond had been arrested Dec. 19 on a charge of making a false police report.
