ORLANDO (CBSMiami) – Orlando is king when it comes to amusement rides. But Disney and Universal Studios might have to take a backseat when the world's tallest roller coaster launches in 2017.

According to a video released Monday, Skyscraper will tower more than 500 feet above International Drive.

A 4-minute video released by Orlando-based US Thrill Rides shows what the massive roller coaster looks like inside Skyplex.

In the simulation, a blue coaster car is holding eight passengers on a red track. As the cart ascends to the top the view changes to first person, so viewers can imagine the experience.

The coaster has a radical, tight design that blends upward mobility with twists and turns, before wrapping around the entertainment complex.

"The unique design of the coaster means more incredible, heart-pounding inside and outside loops, dives, spirals and inversions in a vertical area than riders have ever before experienced," Bill Kitchen, founder of the coaster's maker, US Thrill Rides told the Orlando Sentinel.
