Deerfield Resident Wins Battle To Keep Monkeys

DEERFIELD (CBSMiami) – Monkey business will be allowed to continue in Deerfield Beach.

CBS4 News first told you in October of Nicole Davis and the Marmoset monkeys she raised in a monkey mansion behind her home.

The city cited Davis, saying it was illegal to keep monkeys at a private home.

She fought back, citing a license granted her by the state.

Deerfield Beach has dropped the move to make her move her monkeys.

Davis will still have to make sure the monkeys' house is up to code.

Her attorney says she should have no trouble bringing the elaborate cage into compliance, and the monkey will finally be off her back.
