MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The estate of a woman killed in a violent crash in front of Marlins Park has been awarded $200,000 from the City of Miami.

Pamela Plummer, 69, was the only victim killed in the 11-car accident at the intersection of N.W. 7th Street and 17th Avenue on April 8th.

She was riding in the back seat of the taxi cab she took nearly every day for the previous 25 years when a Public Works dump truck ran a red light and slammed into the cab, which caused it to burst into flames.

Prosecutors said driver Larry Ellis fell asleep at the wheel going about 60 miles per hour.

Seven other people were hurt in the collision.

Ellis was fired from the job, though, he was not charged, according to CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald.
