LONDON (CBSMiami) – As the Miami Dolphins prepare to take on the New York Jets in London on Sunday, British government officials and NFL players met to discuss the possibility of bringing a team to the United Kingdom.

NFL Hall of Famers Dan Marino and Curtis Martin met with The Chancellor, George Osborne, and exchanged a 2015 Rugby World Cup for a gold NFL Super Bowl 50 ball.

Mr. Osborne also received a New York Jets and a Miami Dolphins jersey.

Marino and Martin threw an American football around outside Downing Street and gave Mr. Osborne some tips on his throw.

Marino fondly remembered when he played for the Dolphins in London.

"I played in the first game here. It was an exhibition game, not a real game, back in 1989 against the 49ers in the Wembley Stadium. The Dolphins, we have a lot of history here. It's good," said Marino.

Right now though, the former fins quarters is looking forward to Sunday's game.

"We get a lot of support here in London. We played in it last year against the Raiders, looking forward to playing the Jets. For us it's an important game, a division game, it's the first time over here they've had a division game and hopefully we'll win."

Marino also said he believes there's a pretty good chance the NFL could come to London on a more permanent basis.

"I think they enjoy the game. They're enjoying it more and it's getting more traction in Great Britain. I think it's something, I can't say for sure because I don't have that kind of authority but I think it can be done. I think it's pretty possible it can happen in the future."
