Man Accused Of Beating Woman To Death With Tire Iron

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -  A man who reportedly beat a woman to death with a tire iron has been taken into custody.

On September 4th, around 1:30 p.m., someone called 9-1-1 to report the attack at an assisted living facility at 10900 SW 177th Terrace.

The caller said that a man beat 74-year old Rubeina Belizario with a tire iron. The man, later identified as 23-year old Timmy Lee Williams, then reportedly grabbed a weight lifting bar and continued his assault, according to police.

The caller said he received some minor injuries when he reportedly struggled with Williams in an effort to help Belizaro. Williams ran off before officers arrived, according to police.

When Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived, they pronounced Belizario dead.

Williams suffers from schizophrenia and has a history of minor arrests.
