Dade Cop Accused Of Ripping Off Drivers During Traffic Stops

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A Miami-Dade police officer is accused of stealing money and property during traffic stops.
On Thursday the Justice Department announced that a grand jury had charged Detective William Kostopoulos, 47, with using his law enforcement authority to violate motorists' civil rights.
The indictment also charges Kostopoulos with lying to those he allegedly stole from so they wouldn't report it to federal law enforcement.
This case is being investigated by the FBI, with assistance from the Homestead police department.
