Curtis Park Closed Because Of Contaminants

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Miami park is closed while officials test the soil for possible contaminants.

An early sample from Curtis Park at 1901 NW 24 Street revealed contamination which requires further testing.

The Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resource Management and State Department of Health are working with Miami as the testing is conducted and will help determine if additional actions are necessary.

The park will remain closed as the area-wide sampling continues.

Officials revealed this week a concern about contaminants at Bayfront Park.  Click here to read about lead found at that park.
