DALLAS (CBSMiami) – Texas Sen. Ted Cruz remains upbeat about not only winning in Texas, but doing well in the other "Super Tuesday" states. But he also called on the other candidates to come together on Wednesday if they don't do well.

Cruz and his wife, Heidi, went to vote Tuesday morning in their hometown. The couple brought along their two young daughters.

Texas is the biggest prize on Super Tuesday, with 155 delegates in the Republican primary.

In all, about 600 delegates will be awarded.

Even though he didn't mention his challengers by name, Cruz was referring to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, when he said how important it is to beat frontrunner Donald Trump.

"For any candidate who wakes up tomorrow morning who has not won any state, any candidate who wakes up tomorrow morning with a negligible number of delegates, I think it's time to start thinking about coming together and unifying and presenting a clear choice," Cruz said.

Cruz is counting on winning Texas and coming in second place in a handful of other states. He is particularly encouraged by the massive Republican turnout in Texas.

Rubio, who is trailing Trump in his home state, will be hosting a rally at Tropical Park starts at 8 p.m. – just two miles from where he began his political career.

But the businessman also has his sights set on the spot for the next major primary – Florida on March 15th.

Trump will be at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach for an event starting at 9 p.m.

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton is also stopping into the Sunshine State for a Super Tuesday event of her own.
