COCONUT CREEK (CBSMiami) -- Imagine someone opening your front door in the middle of the night while you slept inside.

"That's what's so scary. Look how easy," said Jeff Levin, as he watched surveillance video shot from his doorbell of three guys letting themselves into his home early last Sunday.

He and his wife fell asleep on the couch while watching a movie. Just feet away, the crooks were cleaning out their house.

"I'm just going, 'someone was in our house, look at these guys.' And they look like thugs, that was the worst part," he said. "I'm just imagining what happens if I awoke, there'd be a confrontation. That means they were right here, looking at us."

They got jewelry, telephones credit cards. In minutes they were gone, racing out the front door and on to the next house.

"They probably came in here, probably saw the iPad here and grabbed it," said homeowner Andrew Butler.

His place was hit around the same time -- just blocks away in the same Coconut Creek neighborhood at Lyons Road and the Sawgrass. He, too, was sound asleep while three guys rifled through his things, taking wallets and computers.

"It's completely unnerving to say the least," he said. "To have someone in your house and it's incredible to think someone was in the house while we were sleeping and we didn't know it."

They hit a third house, too.

Police said all the homes have one thing in common -- keyless entry locks.

"The locking devices on the front doors were all electronic devices," said Det. Joe Barreto with Coconut Creek Police Dept. "There was no specific brands that were in common."

Police believe the robbers drove away in an older model, light-colored Lincoln or Mercury with a dark top.

If you have any idea who these three are, call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
