Critical Mass To Get Into The Spirit Of The Holiday
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - In their monthly demonstration to show that drivers should and can share the road with people on bikes, hundreds of cyclists are expected to take part in tonight's Critical Mass ride in Miami.
Getting into the spirit of the Halloween holiday, the cyclists will be in costume as the pedal 11 miles through Riverside, Little Havana, West Flagler, Coral Gables, Miracle Mile, Coral Way, Shenandoah, Calle Ocho, East Little Havana, and Downtown Miami.
The ride kicks off Government Center in Miami at 7:15 p.m.
Ride organizers are asking participants to play it safe if they come in costume. They say if riders plan to wear masks or other face covering, they must be able to see clearly and breathe easily at all times. Also, sure the costume will not get caught in the wheels, gears, or pedals.
During the ride, all everyone is urged to stay in the right lane, and not ride across the middle line on the road into opposite travel lane.
Also no headphones. While riding a bicycle it is illegal to wear a headset, headphone or other listening device, other than a hearing aid or instrument for the improvement of defective human hearing.
Seeing as it will be a night ride, both front and rear lights will be required by law.
