Cristobal To Pass Northwest Of Bermuda Thursday Morning

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Hurricane Cristobal is forecast to pass well to the northwest of Bermuda Thursday morning

At 11 p.m., the Category 1 hurricane was 320 miles west of Bermuda and 325 miles East of Cape Hatteras North Carolina . It's maximum sustained winds were estimated at 80 mph as the system moved to the north at 12 mph.

Hurricane force winds extend 60 miles from the system's center while tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 205 miles.

A Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect for Bermuda.

Some strengthening is forecast within the next 48 hours and Cristobal is expected to become a powerful extra tropical Cyclone over the North Atlantic Friday night..

Cristobal is expected to produce up to two inches of rain over Bermuda.
