MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- State and federal agencies are working to find survivors after a boat reportedly capsized with more than a dozen Cuban migrants on board.

Three Cuban migrants arrived Sunday evening and told authorities they had been on a boat with 20 other people on board heading to the United States when it capsized last week.

The three men - found on Big Pine Key - had left Cuba on Sept. 20th but the rustic boat capsized a day later.

Since then, authorities have been investigating the deaths of five people who were found in the Florida Keys. All agencies now believe those five people found dead along with the three living migrants were most likely on the same boat.

Crews are still searching by air and sea - searching more than 9,260 square miles so far. That's roughly the size of New Hampshire.
