MILTON, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) —  A Florida couple was sentenced to 10 years behind bars for allowing their toddler to drink a drain cleaner - commonly used to make methamphetamine.

Local media outlets report that 24-year-old Amber Nicole Cooley and 27-year-old Kyle Joseph Cooley were sentenced last week after pleading no contest to multiple drug and child abuse charges.

Authorities say their 3-year-old child was airlifted from their Milton home to a Pensacola hospital in December after drinking the strong acid from a sippy cup and suffering severe burns to the face, neck, mouth and chest.
