BROWARD (CBSMiami) -- An airboat collision in the Florida Everglades has left one woman in the hospital.

It happened Sunday afternoon near Mile Marker 35 on the southside canal of I-75.

Four people were on one boat. Three of them were a family visiting from Texas. Two were ejected from the boat during the crash.

"That was a tour, a charter boat," said Mike Jachles with the Broward Sheriff's Office. "So there was the captain of the airboat and then there was the family of three. A husband, wife and teenage son."

Officials don't think they were wearing floating devices.

"The husband and wife were apparently sitting in the front seat of the airboat," said Jachles. "When the collision happened, the husband and wife were ejected into the water."

The woman, 48, suffered lower extremity trauma and was airlifted to Broward Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The others weren't hurt. Officials did not say how the crash occurred.
