WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) — A funeral for the church musician killed by a plain-clothed police officer was held Saturday afternoon.

The service for Corey Jones took place at Payne Chapel AME and included guests Rev. Al Sharpton and Apostle Sharon D. Walker as eulogy speakers.

On October 18, Jones was fatally shot during a confrontation with Nouman Raja, a Palm Beach Gardens officer who pulled up alongside Jones' broken-down vehicle in an unmarked van, without his police badge.

Jones was armed with a gun when Raja approached but a preliminary investigation has revealed that Jones did not fire his weapon.

Several agencies have joined the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office in their investigation, including the FBI.

A memorial fund for Corey Jones has been set up in his honor.
