CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – Police continue searching for a man who robbed and inappropriately touched a woman in Coral Gables early Sunday morning – and residents are concerned.

The woman was walking along the 1300 block of Granada Boulevard in Coral Gables, one of the city's more popular residential streets with beautiful old Mediterranean-style homes, when she was attacked.

People who live on Granada Boulevard were surprised to hear about the attack.

"That's very disconcerting.  A huge cause for concern," said J.C. Parets.

"It's a really scary thought. It makes me feel very insecure," said another resident, Georgia Lambrou.

They said that in the mornings and evenings, especially, many people walk, jog and bike along the boulevard with children and dogs in tow.

"My wife walks around here with the dog by herself in the morning at 6:30 and you expect that to be safe in the neighborhood," said Daniel Zarete, whose lived in the neighborhood for 18 years.  "And it's not.  So that is worrisome."

"It's very upsetting because I consider Coral Gables a very safe area. I'm raising my family here. My yard is right there. So it's a little bit scary to think that that could happen right across the street on a Sunday in broad daylight," Lambrou.

"I can tell you right now my wife is not going to be walking in the morning, especially with the time change. So yeah, she's not doing that," said Parets.

The woman gave Coral Gables police a detailed description of the man she says attacked her.

He's described as a 35-year-old Latin male between 5'8" to 5'10" wearing yellow, colorful sneakers. He was also seen driving a white, older model van.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Coral Gables Police Department at (305) 442-1600 or Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
