Coral Gables Names Interim City Manager

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – A little over a week after the resignation of Coral Gables City Manager Pat Salerno, the city's commission has named an interim city manager.

Carmen Olazabal, the assistant city manager, was named city manager at a special meeting held Wednesday.

Olazabal will fill in until the city completes a nationwide search for a permanent replacement, according to CBS4's news partner the Miami Herald.

Olazabal joined the city in September 2010 as building and zoning director and has served as the assistant city manager since January 2013, the paper reports.

Salerno announced his resignation April 8th during a meeting that was centered on car accident troubles in the Gables.
