MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A man who police say used a gun to take what he wanted in four robberies is now staring at the inside of a jail cell.

Michael Smallwood, 20, committed the robberies between December 18th of last year and January 18th, according to North Miami Beach police.

In at least three of the robberies the armed figure, who wore a hoodie with the hood cinched up over his face which was hidden by a mask, was caught on store surveillance cameras.

On Thursday, January 21st, he was taken into custody.

Along with personal property taken during the robberies, detectives recovered a gun and distinctive clothing they believe he wore during them.

During questioning, police say Smallwood confessed to all four of the robberies.
