Cool Weather Settling In For Next Few Days

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It was a chilly and breezy morning across South Florida Wednesday thanks to a cold front sweeping through overnight, but the coldest temperatures are yet to come.

In Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, lows dropped to the low 50's near the coast and to the upper 40's inland. The average low for this time of year is around 60 degrees.

Temperatures this afternoon struggled to reach the low 60's despite plenty of bright winter sunshine. That will put the temperatures around 10-16 degrees below average for this time of year.

Wednesday night, the clear skies will allow for plenty of radiational cooling. Low temperatures will fall to the low 40's near the coast and the upper 30's inland.

Thursday, highs will climb to around 70 degrees with plenty of sunshine, but a reinforcing cold front will keep temperatures in the 40's Friday morning with highs only in the uppers 60's by Friday afternoon.

By the weekend, the area will see a milder trend in temperatures. As high pressure builds in, slightly warmer afternoons will settle in with highs in the low 70's by Saturday. However, we'll still continue to enjoy cool, comfy nights with lows in the 40's & 50's.
