MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It was a cold and wet start across South Florida Wednesday morning and the day will remain cool and cloudy.

Our chilly morning began with lows in the low to mid 50s for some of the coldest spots.

Rain overnight and early Wednesday morning lead to slick roads and some ponding.

Breezy showers remain in the forecast with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Because of the winds, there is a high risk of rip currents at the beaches through Thursday morning.

Wednesday night, it won't be as cold with lows in the 60s and by Thursday, we will be in the low to mid 70s.

The warming trend continues late week and into the weekend with highs back in the low 80s Saturday and Sunday.
