Consumer Confidence Dips In Florida

GAINESVILLE (CBSMiami/NSF) – Florida's consumer confidence, according to University of Florida's monthly survey, seems to have dropped slightly.

On a scale that ranges from two to 150, confidence among Floridians sits at 78, which is two points lower than in April but where the state was at the start of 2014.

The study, released Tuesday, was conducted by UF's Survey Research Center in the Bureau of Economic and Business Research.

"Confidence among Floridians seems to be stuck within a five-point range, with the exception of last October when the government shut down," Chris McCarty, director of the center, said in a prepared statement.

"The News Service of Florida contributed to this report."
