Conine on Fernandez Trade Buzz: 'That's the Business of Baseball'

What's Jeff Conine think of the possibility of Jose Fernandez being traded?

"That's the business of baseball," Conine said on the Big O Show. "It doesn't only happen here in Miami. It happens in every big city across the big leagues. Jose [Fernandez] is a once-in-a-generation talent. He's that good. You've got to put him right along with the likes of Kershaw, Greinke and some of the best pitchers in the National League. And, it would be a shame if he wasn't able to stay here long term. But, in the reality of the economics of baseball and agents, stuff happens. I hope we can sign him and he'll be a Marlin forever. To have an anchor like that for your pitching staff, a number one guy that you know every fifth day he's going to give you a chance to win ... That's what a true ace is, and he is a true ace."
