MIAMI (CBSMiami) — A change in ramps and lanes on the Palmetto Expressway and Dolphin Expressway led to delays Monday morning.

On Friday the long-awaited opening of the ramp from southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway to eastbound SR 836/Dolphin Expressway finally happened. The new ramp will be the first exit after the NW 25th Street exit.

On Saturday morning, the new Dolphin Expressway eastbound lanes finally opened. They extend from 87th Avenue to 57th Avenue.

On Sunday a new ramp from State Road 826 northbound to east and west State Road 836 opened to traffic. The new ramp is about a quarter miled north of the old ramp.

On Monday, many drivers were not reading the overhead signs which alerted them that the new SR 826 to east and west SR 836 was open. They used the old exit which leads to 72nd Avenue which caused back ups to Bird Road.
