MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami commissioners have voted unanimously to hold the 2016 Miami International Boat Show at the Marine Stadium.

Thursday's vote authorized a bond issue to pay for improvements to the area around the stadium, but not the stadium itself.

The city will spend as much as $16 million on the project and in return will receive rent from the boat show as well as a percentage of the concessions.

A plan by a private group to renovate the stadium fell through last year.
