Colombia To Deport More Than 1,200 Undocumented Cubans

TURBO, Colombia (CBSMiami) – More than 1,200 undocumented Cubans languishing on the border of Panama and Colombia will be deported.
The Colombian government made the announcement Wednesday.
Panama closed its border with Colombia in May to stop Cubans from passing through. That left a growing number of migrants living on the Colombian border, where many camped in a warehouse that became a makeshift shelter.
Cubans have traveled in droves to South America in an attempt to get to the U.S. since the U.S. and Cuba re-established relations.
Many fear the wet foot, dry foot policy will be abolished.
