Cold Weather Emergency Issued As Temperatures Drop

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – As cold weather is expected to move into South Florida late Thursday night, Broward County has declared a Cold Weather Emergency until 7:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Meteorologists anticipate temperatures in the middle 40s overnight with wind chill values expected in the lower 40s.

Shelters will open to help those people who are homeless.

The following locations are available to help:

- Pompano Beach

100 W. Atlantic Blvd. (SE Corner)

Pompano Beach City Hall (Pickup Location Only)

- Fort Lauderdale

1445 West Broward Blvd.

The Salvation Army (Shelter and Pickup Location)

- Hollywood

2056 Scott Street

Broward Outreach Center (Shelter Location)
