Cocaine Stuffed Bag Found At Port Everglades

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) — More than 150 pounds of cocaine was found stuffed in a burlap sack at Port Everglades.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers found the bag full of cocaine bricks on February 16th. The officers were inspecting containers onboard a ship which had arrived from Ecuador.

A K-9 sniffed out the drugs which were hidden in an empty container. The cocaine had a street value of $2 million. It was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

CBP officers working at Port Everglades also seized over 615 pounds of cocaine found in five duffel bags during an inspection of a vessel container arriving from Cartagena, Colombia last October.
