HUDSON BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) – Officials are searching the waters for a pair of fisherman who sent a mayday call saying their boat was taking on water in the Gulf of Mexico.

Crews from the United States Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are searching for Anthony Coffey, 29, and William Coffey, 17.

The call came in from someone who heard the call early Tuesday morning that their 29-foot fishing boat was taking on water.

The man told the Coast Guard the vessel is called Miss Melody and it was located about eight miles off the coast of Hudson Beach, which is north of Clearwater.

A number of boats and helicopters are searching for the men.
