Coast Guard Picks Up Sick Infant From Cruise Ship

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – An infant with breathing problems had to be airlifted over the weekend from a cruise ship in the Bahamas.

The 10-month old was having difficulty breathing while on The Enchantment of the Seas that was moored in Coco Cay, Bahamas according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

A Coast Guard MH-65 rescue helicopter flew a medical crew to Coco Cay Sunday evening.

The team stabilized the infant before being flown to Miami Children's Hospital.

The baby and the team arrived at the hospital around 9:45 pm Sunday.

There was no word on the infant's condition early Monday.
