Coast Guard Evacuates Diver East Of Key Largo

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Coast Guard boatcrew medically evacuated a 40-year-old woman six nautical miles east of Key Largo on Sunday morning.

At approximately 10:30 on Sunday, Coast Guard Sector Key West received a request from a commercial diving vessel for a medical evacuation.

A female was experiencing shortness of breath after resurfacing from a dive.

After consulting with the flight surgeon, watchstanders issued launched Station Islamorada to respond.

The boatcrew arrived on scene and after safely embarking the patient, transported her to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, Florida.

She is reported to be in stable condition.
