MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Coast Guard crews are searching for a 77-year old man who went missing while he was sailing to Florida's Panhandle in the Gulf of Mexico

Craig Neus was headed home after sailing his 32-foot beige two-masted Bristol, called the Mariah, from Baltimore, Maryland since June.

Coast Guard officials said he was last seen on November 4th when he was at a Captiva resort called the South Seas Plantation.

Officials who tend to the bridges North of Boca Grande have no reports of Neus' boat passing under their bridges.

Neus' family believes he may have been sailing farther West than he had intended.

Crews are searching for him by air and seas.
