MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It's been a great opening week of the season for the Miami Heat's Chris Bosh.

He's leading the team both on and off the court and has been a huge part in the Heat's perfect 3-0 start to the season.  No other team in the Eastern Conference has zero losses despite the season being just a week old.

The news keeps getting better for the Heat as the NBA announced on Monday that Bosh has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

This is the ninth time in Bosh's career that he's been awarded Player of the Week honors.

During his first three games of the season, Bosh is averaging 25.7 points on 47.9 percent shooting, 11.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals.  He's also shooting 54.5 percent from three-point range and 86.2 percent from the free throw line.

Bosh has come away with two double-doubles in his three games played while leading the team in points, rebounds and minutes in every game this season.

He's become just the fifth player in Heat history to score at least 20 points in the first three games of the season.

This is the 51st time in Heat franchise history that a player has earned Player of the Week honors.
