MIAMI (CBSMiami) – South Florida is about to get some relief.  A cold front is on schedule to bring a break in the heat and humidity over the weekend.

But don't dig out the parkas and boots just yet.

While it is the coolest air of the season, temperatures are only expected to drop 10 to 15 degrees.

There will be plenty of breezy, sun with highs in the 70s and lows in the 60s.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are the mid-70s for highs and low 60s for lows.

So get outside this weekend and enjoy the cooler air because it won't last long.

Highs will climb back into the 80s next week, just in time for Christmas.

The first day of Winter is December 22nd.
