FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Police have added two additional charges to a Sunrise man already facing first-degree murder.

On Thursday, Fidel Lopez, 24, was hit with two felony counts of sexual battery involving great force.

According to Sunrise police, Lopez admitted he became a "monster" when he attacked his girlfriend, Maria Nemeth, 31, in a fit of rage after she uttered her ex-husband's name twice while the couple was having sex in their apartment.

It happened September 19th at 1630 NW 128th Terrace when Lopez called 911 and told the operator that Nemeth was having trouble breathing.

As officers arrived, they found Lopez covered in blood and standing next to Nemeth's lifeless body.

She had been disemboweled.

Upon looking around, officers noticed pools of blood throughout the home, fist-sized holes in the drywall, a closet door ripped from its hinges and the rear sliding glass door shattered.

Lopez initially told police he and Nemeth had been drinking tequila and their rough sex in the closet went too far when Nemeth wanted objects inserted into her vagina.

However, upon further questioning, police say Lopez's story changed and admitted that hearing someone else's name during sex enraged him so much he began smashing things around the house. When he found Nemeth passed out from intoxication, he inserted a tequila bottle and other objects into her vagina and anus.

The arrest report concludes that he continued to stick his arm, up to his elbow, into her vagina and pull out intestinal tissue.

He then carried her into the bathroom and tried to revive her with cold water on her face, but it was too late. He told police he had a smoke, tried to clean up and called 911.

Lopez was arrested that afternoon and is awaiting trial behind bars.
