MIAMI (CBSMiami) - CBS4 anchor Eliott Rodriguez got a chance to step into the shoes of a Miami-Dade public school teacher.

Eliott was "Teacher for a Day" at iPrep Academy, where the regular first grade teacher is his Miss Rodriguez, who happens to his daughter Bianca.

With Bianca's help, Eliott taught math to the attentive and enthusiastic class of first graders. Eliott's visit to the school was part of the Education Fund's annual Teach-A-Thon, an effort to raise money to support public school teachers and students.

Established in 1985, the Education Fund is a non-profit organization that provides private sector leadership and support to Miami-Dade public schools. The Education fund provides direct grants to teachers and schools and runs a school supply store that provides public school teachers in Miami-Dade with school supplies, eliminating the need for teachers to dip to dip into their own pockets to do their jobs.

"I always tell my daughter that everyone remembers their first grade teacher," Eliott said. "That's why I am so proud of the job she and all teachers perform on a daily basis."
