Car Crashes Into Police Car On Turnpike

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- An investigation is underway following a crash involving a Miami-Dade Police officer.

Officers said three cars were involved in the accident that occurred just before 4 a.m.

The three vehicles were headed South on Florida's Turnpike when a 2003 Saturn on the right lane hit a Ford Focus. Investigators said as a result of that incident, the Focus lost control and sideswiped an unmarked police car.

The officer inside the car was off-duty at the time.

No one was injured in the accident.
