Cargo Plane Makes Emergency Landing At MIA

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The perimeter road around Miami International Airport were closed to traffic as a precaution Wednesday morning after a cargo jet experienced a problem after take off and had to return.

The Atlas aircraft lifted off just after 7 a.m. bound for Argentina.

The pilot reported a problem with the plane's tires and was given permission to return. It plane touched down at 8:50 a.m.

Chopper4 spotted what appeared to be a blown tire on the rear landing gear with smoke coming from it as the plane taxied down the runway.

Emergency fire crews followed the plane at safe distance until the plane came to a stop, they then surrounded it.

No fire or injuries were were reported.
