Car Wedged Under Tractor Trailer In Northwest Miami Crash

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A man was seriously hurt in a wild wreck in northwest Miami.

The car ended up wedged underneath a parked tractor-trailer at NW 22nd Avenue and 41st Street.

Firefighters extricated the driver and rushed him to Jackson Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

A short distance away at NW 27th Avenue and 30th Street police found a Lexus SUV with severe front end damage. The driver, identified as 16-year-old Diamond McCloud, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.

Investigators have not said who was at fault for the crash. In surveillance video, the Lexus SUV is seen heading north while the man's vehicle approaches the intersection from the west.

Later that morning shortly after the crash CBS4 News was there and found the northbound lanes had a flashing yellow light to proceed.
