Police: Car Driving Away From Cops Crashes Into Home

SARASOTA (CBSMiami/AP) — A car, driving away from police, crashed into a Sarasota home Saturday killing one woman inside the residence.

Police said Eleanor Ball, 62,was asleep when the car went through a side wall of her home and into her bedroom.

Investigators said the car was driven by a 24-year-old Tampa woman who was driving away from police after they had been dispatched to her ex-boyfriend's home for an alleged break in.

Officials said Ball died at the scene.

The driver was taken to the hospital and was expected to be booked into the Sarasota County Jail.

She faces charges of vehicular homicide, burglary, battery, petit theft, and obstruction.
