Captain Citrus To Star In Online Videos

ORLANDO (CBSmiaim/AP) — School kids in all 50 states know about Captain Citrus from the comic books.

The super hero, used by the state's Department of Citrus used to market Florida's orange juice, will soon be appearing in a series of web-based short videos.

The animated version was created to coincide with the launch of the third Captain Citrus comic.

The agency has paid Marvel Comics $1 million to create Captain Citrus in hopes of bolstering orange juice's reputation as a healthy and wholesome drink.

The comics are distributed to school children in all 50 states, and they're also available on the Department of Citrus' web site

In the animated version, Captain Citrus is voiced by a fifth-generation citrus grower, 24-year-old Christian Spinosa.
