Canes Footbal Schedule Released: Get Noles At Home In November

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The college football season is just a few weeks into the offseason, but the 2014 schedule has already been released as teams chase a berth in the first college football playoff.

The ACC released the schedule for its teams on Wednesday and UM will open the season against the newest member of the conference, the Louisville Cardinals. The game will be played in Louisville on September 1.

Miami follows that game with two easier home games against Florida A&M University on September 6 and Arkansas State on September 13. Then the schedule takes a decidedly stiffer turn the next week.

The Hurricanes will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The game will rekindle a rivalry from years ago when both teams were regularly competing for the National Championship. The tougher non-conference game will be a sign of things to come as schools look to strengthen schedules for the playoffs.

Miami then enters conference play with a game against the Duke Blue Devils on September 27 and then travels to Georgia Tech on October 4. Miami plays Cincinnati on October 11 followed by road games against Virginia Tech and North Carolina on October 23 and November 11 respectively.

Then the big game of the year, Miami will welcome the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles to Sun Life Stadium on November 15. Last season, FSU pulled away from Miami after Duke Johnson blew out his ankle in the game.

Miami will close out the season with a road game against the Virginia Cavaliers on November 22 and then a home game against the Pittsburgh Panthers on November 29.

The ACC Championship Game is scheduled for December 6, 2014.
