Burglary Suspect Chase Ends With Cyclist Struck On Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- A burglary suspect has added a hit-and-run to his crime list after hitting a cyclist on Miami Beach.

Miami Beach Police said an officer witnessed an attempted car burglary at 1st Street and Washington Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

A foot chase ensued before the suspect jumped into a waiting car and fled.

During the pursuit, the car then hit the cyclist while traveling westbound on the MacArthur Causeway, near Palm Island.

The victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital with broken bones. Officials said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Police are now looking for a white, four-door Chrysler 300 with dark-tinted windows.
