BSO: Suicidal Man Who Barricaded Himself In Home With Children Taken Into Custody

LAUDER LAKES (CBSMiami) – Broward Sheriff's Office deputies have taken a man into custody after a standoff in Lauderdale Lakes Tuesday night.

BSO said an armed and suicidal man had  barricaded inside a home at 3510 NW 35th Ave.

Deputies said an elderly woman, another woman and five kids were inside the home with him.

The man had reportedly not made any threats to hurt anyone but himself.

BSO did not call the people in the home "hostages" because it's unclear if they were able to come out on their own and just didn't want to.

Finally, at midnight, the man was arrested. The children and women were taken away safely.
